Hello and welcome to my re-election Web site.

Last year, we made history together. I was elected to the State Senate, but it was our victory. Together, we triumphed over the most fabled political machine in the country and gained ground in the fight to once again make Albany responsible and responsive to the residents of Long Island and all of New York State.

Since that time, I have fought hard for legislation that will empower our communities, provide real tax relief, and roll back many of the unfunded mandates on schools and local governments that drive up spending and property taxes.

These are real challenges that have been further complicated by what may be the worst fiscal climate in a generation.

The residents of the 7th Senate District need a representative in Albany who knows how to make the right decisions to help bring a government back from the brink of financial collapse.

As a member of the Nassau County Legislature, I was the youngest-ever chairman of the Finance Committee, and part of the team that helped turn Nassau around and advert the near- disaster that was sowed by decades of Republican machine control.

I am prepared to do it again in Albany, but I can't do it alone.

Together, we can overcome the hurtles that have taken root during years of Albany inaction and once again, make New York and Long Island stronger, safer, and more affordable.

Thank you. I look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail.

Sincerely,

Craig Johnson
State Senator, 7th District
